Acqualagna is a town with about 4,500 inhabitants in the province of Pesaro and Urbino. The municipality is situated about 38 km in south-southwest of Pesaro and about 12 km south-southeast of Urbino. It is located not far from the historic and magnificent Furlo Creek (Gola del Furlo) and is especially known for its truffles. In the neighboring woods thrive all kinds of commercially viable truffles. Among them is also the most expensive and well-known: the white truffle (Tuber magnatum pico). Acqualagna is the center of the truffle trade.
