Montedinove is located on a ridge between the valleys of the Aso and the Tesino. The village name comes from the ancient city Novana. During excavationsaround the city were found important testimonies of Piceno culture. Characteristic of the village is the ancient city center, which is bounded by a medieval wall. Also famous is the breathtaking views in all directions. From the suburb of S. Tommaso, a place of pilgrimage developed, which was dedicated to St. Thomas Becket. The most outstanding buildings of the town are the Church of Santa Maria di Cellis with frescoes from the 15th century and a crucifix from the 13th century, the church of San Lorenzo, the Palazzo Communale and a lodge from the 15th century.
